One-on-One Officiant Training

1. Welcome & Introduction (5 minutes)

• Explain the mission of AFM: spreading love, joy, and happiness through officiating weddings, and helping ministers thrive both spiritually and financially.

2. Overview of Wedding Officiant Role (5 minutes)

• Discuss the importance of the officiant’s role in the wedding ceremony.
• Explain the legal and spiritual responsibilities of a wedding officiant.
• Share how AFM supports officiants in creating memorable and meaningful ceremonies.

3. Understanding the Wedding Ceremony Structure (7 minutes)

• Break down the key components of a wedding ceremony:
  • Opening Remarks & Introduction
  • The Vows
  • The Ring Exchange
  • Pronouncement of Marriage
  • Closing Remarks & Recession
• Provide tips on personalizing ceremonies for different couples.

4. Legal Requirements & Documentation (5 minutes)

• Overview of legal responsibilities, including signing the marriage license.
• Explain state-specific legal requirements for officiants (if applicable).
• Discuss how AFM provides ongoing legal support and updates on officiant laws.

5. Communication & Preparation (5 minutes)

• Explain how to communicate effectively with the couple to understand their vision and preferences for the ceremony.
